Notes of the Archivist;

Nemesis has been party to the most peculiar of incidents; even though this was resolved to stalemate on both sides before the war was won by those of Crystal Tokyo, I took the liberty of taking down some of the opinions and comments of those involved. This adds to the other file that was placed in the archives by the Shiroi Oujisama, who is now deceased.

However, the articles herein were collected during the weeks that lead up to the day the Nemesians lost their sainted Shiroi Oujisama, and then the war itself. It was not until now -- a year after the death of Dimando re'Adamant -- that I rediscovered the papers lost in the hysteria after the war.

Here are the personal views of many people involved in the stalemate time situation; many are that of the Nemesites, some I received without explanation, and one I was recently given by the Senshi in question herself at a treaty signing... the report has never been -- and never will be -- written as I was asked to do, but these remain as a record of that time.

Even though it is now caught in the web of the past, you can't help but wonder why this happened.

(these are dictated notes; they were directed at me by the speaker)

I have to give you a "culmination statement" to summarise the events that Saffir got me tangled into? Since when?

Okay, you don't have to wave the order at me; I can see Dimando-sama's signature on it. What makes me wonder, though, is how you got that... you're investigating the incident on his behalf? I always knew you wanted to be a coroner of some sort, but still...

Yes, yes, I'm getting to your question. Let me put it this way, uh... what did you say your name was? Amethyst, that's right... you were the one who forgot Saffir the first time around, right? Come on, donât look so shocked; I know it was you-

(unnecessary banter, cut out due to the censorable nature of the material)

Since you didn't break my fan, I'll help you out a little. Simply put -- it was Saffirâs fault. Now, go and bug Use- I mean, go and bug the little bookworm. I have things to do, a war to win, a prince to marry- uh, I mean a prince to answer to if I don't go and capture the Rabbit. Don't you have something better to be doing than staring at me? I know I'm the most perfect woman in the world, but honestly... oh, do you have a emery board on you? I think I just broke my nail...

~ Esmeraude re'Garnet

(Prince Saffir-sama's internal computer-telegram, received the day I asked him the question.)

Amethyst-san,

This memorandum contains some of the thoughts I have on the recent events. I have already given you the explicit forensic account of the events, and I don't really see the point in giving you my personal views on the situation, but seeing as they are part of a report for the Prince only, here you are.

That's all I have to say on a personal note, Amethyst-san; I hope that's of some use to you.

~ Saffir re'Adamant

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(The memorandum that was delivered to me three or four days before the Shiroi Oujisama died.)

Amethyst;

I wasn't aware that you were collecting the personal views of those involved; however, as a participant in this "incident," I will accede to your request for a personal observation.

To say it simply -- very simply -- I began this war for the Children of Nemesis. This incident has made me realise how easily I seem to forget that, both in the face of my love for Serenity and my love for my brother. In that respect, it has proved most worthy; my goals are once again realised. I do this not only for myself, and for my brother -- I do it for my people.

However, if I see Sailor Pluto again, I don't think we'd have much to say to one another.

As a parting comment -- do you hear strange noises about the citadel at night? It seems a peculiar question to ask, I realise that, but as a new resident, I thought you might... have noticed something peculiar. I don't know; I seem to hear a singing in the background. I can't explain it; Saffir just looks at me blankly when I mention it.

I don't know why I included that in this memorandum; it just seemed appropriate, somehow.

Thank you for your kindness and discretion in compiling this report.

~ Dimando re'Adamant

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(the comments of the Nemesian Lord Marshal on the question of "What are your personal views on the recent incident that you were involved in?")

Little love, I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but I'll do my best to adhere to your wishes. I've given you my blow-by-blow report already, what was it you asked? Ah, personal opinions... I donât know what to say. Lychnite was genuinely something of a loss; not to mention the Darksnake was as well... I loved that ship. I really did.

I have to move on? Ah. Well, I can safely say that perhaps time travel is a mistake. I can also say that messing around with little femme-men is hazardous to your health as well as to your morals. I still can't quite believe I stabbed the little bastard... even though he deserved it. Excuse my language.

I can also say that Dimando-sama has the oddest swings of temper, and I still can't quite understand him at the moment. One second he was renouncing his mission to conquer Earth; the next he was right back at it.

Uh... he's not going to read this, is he?

What do you mean, I can't bribe you to erase things? Little love, you're really pushing it now. I mean it --

~ Serpentine re'Carnelian

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(One of His Excelleny's aides gave this to me; I was rather surprised, as I never would have thought of requesting such a thing of his Lordship. I hadn't even believed he was remotely interested in the situation; it bears archiving, however, if not only for the reason that it even exists in the first place.)

Amethyst re'Padparadscha,

Due to the nature of your report, I believed it appropriate that I should pass some judgement over the recent events that took place in my state.

I am now going through the motions of passing a new law; I thought this fact was worth mentioning in your report, should you ever write it. This law states that no-one is ever allowed to fraternise with the Angel of Time unless it is for the explicit reason of resurrecting the period of the seventies.

~ Rudra,

Prime Minister of Nemesis

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(This was delivered to me by means of a letter; it appeared without warning nor explanation sometime in the day after Dimando-sama gave me his memorandum; it was found by one of my students on my desk early that evening.)

Amethyst re'Padparadscha,

As the Guardian of Time, I thought my opinion would be helpful to you in the compilation of your report. I realise that using my remarks could earn you the displeasure of your Shiroi Oujisama, but I offer you this letter anyway.

All I have to say on this matter is simple.

Don't you ever mess about in the timelines, Amethyst, or I'll erase Friday night.

~ Sailor Pluto

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(One of the most recent additions; this was given to me by the author herself while I was on a diplomatic trip with Serpentine to Earth.)

To the Princess Amethyst re'Padparadscha;

I remember Setsuna-mama mentioning that you were writing a report on the whole Timeline Affair that occurred near the end of the war.

I considered not giving this to you, but I changed my mind after some debate. Amethyst-san, I have to tell you that I'm sick to death of the little voices in my head, and incidentally, are you sure the Wiseman is really dead? I just want to make sure; if he's not, I'd like to give him a round or two of "Silence Glaive surprise."

Old people. Sheesh. Who says they're not dangerous?

Furthermore; war is just not at all amusing. It is made less amusing when you have a blonde girl at your side who says "Hey, look! They just blew up the parliament buildings! That would've been funny if they weren't our buildings, ne?"

And for posterity, I would like to remark that I still like "A Tale of Two Cities," and Haruka-papa asked me to say that Saffir would have made a lousy Earthen resident... she said he would've been killed the first time he tried to cross the street. She then frowned and changed it to the second time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(A most odd entry; see endnotes for further discussion. I found this amongst the papers as I prepared to file these permanently, several days after the "en-lightning" experience.)

I found this record down here while I was bored. Does this mean I get rended into ten billion pieces? If that's true, please make sure that my elbow and my ear stay very separate; I have enough trouble telling them apart as it is. However, if you know a phone number for the Great One (preferably one that doesn't involve pressing the pound sign three times or the imbibing of Worchester sauce), our kami-sama and one true God, I want to make sure that He is the receiver of my obligatory last phone call. In conclusion, there was an Indian named Crazy Horse and Libya is a land of contrast.

~ Jadeite

"...I don't care if you hurt me some more -- I don't care if you even the score... well you can knock me, I don't care, and you can mock me, I don't care -- and you can lock me just about anywhere you care... because you're all I've got tonight... I need you tonight. I need you... tonight."

P.S. Do you like the signature? I don't know, I think it needs a little work. Hmm, perhaps with some draperies over the windows in a nice mustard shade... perhaps with some windows, for that matter...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In conclusion, I would like to relate the incident that made me close this file without writing the report that had been requested. Naturally, one of the reasons was the fact that Dimando-sama was deceased; the other, however, is slightly stranger.

I would like to make the observation that the author of the last entry later approached me in the archives of the Greater Underwing of Breccia University. He seemed to be singing a song in Italian which I translated as meaning "Where to gather my sighs? Where, in the sky? I'd like to run away..."

He then wandered off again, and I didn't see him for two days. Then, remarkably, I came across him again, this time back in Omerna. The only really notable thing about the day was that Omerna had been subject to some quite vile weather at the time; we had been experiencing storms and electrical disturbances quite often, which was one of the reasons I had been spending so much time in Judecca, in the city of Breccia.

I came across him in the White Tower; he seemed to have come from the throne room, which had been empty at the time. He was once again singing in Italian; he came out with "Lord, You who have imprisoned me, free me. I cry and I do not pardon the error of my ways... but Lord, if You knew my inconsolable pain as You know Your suffering, O King of the immortal heavens, You would come to me..."

This man -- the man who I brought back from the Twentieth century -- wandered out onto the balcony that overlooked the Plaza of the Towers. He raised his hands to the sky... and was hit by a freak bolt of lightning. The pathologist said that he was killed instantly.

God is very quick these days.

This is Lady Amethyst ja'Redran re'Padparascha Black Moon, signing out, and Aneiron don't you DARE interrupt these files or you will be court-martialled and shot by Rudra. Yes, that Mooncat packs a pretty big uzi, my friend.
