Part II

"The Citadel"

________________________________________________________________________

Tsukino Usagi was more than a little unnerved by the close encounter that the three girls had been unwittingly involved in the previous night. Her nightmares had been indication enough of that - not to mention the overwhelming sense of absolute betrayal that she felt.

Tuxedo Kamen-sama is alive? Then why...why didn't come to save us from that weirdo...from Kunzite? Why did he leave us all alone?

The wall she stared at held no answers for her. And neither did her guardian cat.

________________________________________________________________________

Chiba Mamoru stared out across the Tokyo bay, his eyes slightly blurred by sleep. He did not want to go inside, however, no matter how blinding his headache, no matter how cold it was out here, no matter how tired he was.

Sleep was hardly a refuge for the young man, given that his nights were filled with galloping nightmares that chased him up and down like internal demons, as he repeatedly paced the labyrinth halls inside his mind.

And then the girl. Standing on the balcony of her shadowy palace, calling to him, calling his name over and over...and the ginzuishou. What was the ginzuishou?

Mamoru shook his head, and went back to blankly staring across the ocean.

________________________________________________________________________

"You have got to be kidding, Kunzite-sama."

The silver haired man gave the slender man a warning smile, as he regarded the young man sprawled elegantly in the wide armchair. His eyes managed to be both amiable and angry at the same time.

"Zoisite, are you threatening me with mutiny?"

The young man rolled his eyes as he moved his gloved fingers to his head to fiddle with a tendril of his long coppery blonde hair. This nervous fidget was his only signal that he felt uneasy in the face of his sensei's obvious irritation. "How could I do such a thing, Lord Kunzite-sama?"

"Indeed, how could you?" Kunzite reached down to take the man's nearest wrist, yanking him rather unceremoniously to his booted feet. "Come, Zoisite."

"Watch the hair," grumbled Zoisite, but only half-heartedly. "Kunzite-sama, are you really sure you want to do this? I mean, you're not having any doubts now are you?"

Kunzite had to smile at the childlike man's obvious reluctance to do as his beloved teacher asked. "Dear Zoisite, have you ever known me to change my mind once I have decided something?"

"Not you, Kunzite-sama," he muttered as Kunzite yanked him along towards the nearest full length mirror. "Not you..."

Kunzite placed him in front of the mirror, and Zoisite glared darkly at his reflection, though he had to admit that he liked the feel of Kunzite's hands resting lightly on his waist.

The elder man then tugged on Zoisite's long coppery ponytail, and chuckled slightly. "First, I think we'll have to do something about this hairstyle of yours."

Zoisite sighed a long suffering sigh, and then twisted his entire body around so that he faced Kunzite, held loosely in his arms. "Kunzite-sama, you have no alternative reasons for wanting to do this, do you?" A slightly annoyed glimmer sparkled in his emerald eyes, and Kunzite could see that Zoisite was more than a little annoyed at the prospect of doing as his teacher asked.

Kunzite shook his silver head with an amused look at his student, and leant forward slightly to plant a light kiss on his lips. "Zoisite, are you stalling for time?"

"No," he sighed. "So, tell me, what do I have to wear?"

Rei stared at the other two from her perch on the edge of the shrine floor, while the other two stayed a prudent two or three metres from the infamously short tempered girl. "I don't understand either of you," she said in a soft voice, looking at the pair of them with condemning eyes. "We just surrendered to the Dark Kingdom, we gave up everything we stand for."

"So you keep saying," sighed Ami, sneaking a look at Usagi, who was staring at the sky rather blankly. The fact that Tuxedo Kamen had not really helped them when they needed him most had hit the blonde girl the hardest, most definitely. "But Rei-chan, really, what choice did we have? Even if we could have escaped that man, Jadeite knows our Earthen identities! It would have been a virtual suicide to rebel against him, and the other two."

"I think we'd be better off dead than just sitting here and watching the world go by," replied Rei angrily, though she was not quite yelling. Yet. "So, I take it we all plan to just wait for them to show up while we're in these forms, and then knock us off quick and easy?"

Ami sighed again, looking like she was on the verge of a headache. "I trust that man, Rei-chan. He said he wouldn't harm us as long as we didn't interfere in whatever it is that he is doing."

"And you believed him?" snorted Rei, incredulous at Ami's naivety. "Ami-chan, you have to realise something - we aren't dealing with real people here. They aren't even sane. They have no honour whatsoever, and we can NOT trust one word from their lips! Are you listening to me?"

"How could we not?" muttered Luna, more to herself than anyone else. "Her volume is steadily approaching Usagi-status."

Rei gave the cat a dirty look, but she kept her mouth closed, and all three girls remained in a brooding silence for much of the next while.

________________________________________________________________________

Across town, a very sullen looking girl stood in the shadows of an alleyway, a tall man at her side. He looked down at her with a mixture of amusement and genuine affection, and he abruptly tugged on a long ponytail. She snapped around instantly, her green eyes blazing. "Kunzite-sama, would you quit doing that?"

Kunzite had to keep himself from bursting into laughter, but given he was good at shielding his emotions, it was not much of a task. "I like your hair like this. Maybe we could keep it this way."

Zoisite rolled his eyes, and tugged at the short hem of his sailor fuku. "I look like a complete idiot," he complained, and then shot a puppy dog look at his teacher. "Please, Kunzite-sama, can't we call this quits?"

The elder man shook his head, and said to him lightly "Just be glad Nephrite isn't around to see you, Zoisite. He'd have a field day with this."

Zoisite's lips tightened. "Kunzite-sama, why do you make fun of me? Nephrite is trying to do my job, and you act like it's only some trivial little pursuit..."

"Shush, stop your ill-tempered whining, Zoisite. You're only trying to get out of this...but it was your idea in the first place."

"I was only making a quip," muttered Zoisite, before reluctantly pulling out a mirror. Aside from his large green eyes, which vanity did not allow him to change, he looked like an exact replica of the foolish mortal soldier, Sailor Moon. As he stared at himself, he felt Kunzite's large, warm hands move over his eyes, temporarily blinding him. When he could see again, instead of two slanted verdant eyes, he found himself staring into two, very large, very surprised sapphire blue eyes.

"Perfect," Kunzite said softly, and then he abruptly pulled him into his arms and wrapped his lips about his. Zoisite delighted in the impulsive gesture, instantly melting into his embrace. Kunzite found the experience strangely disorienting, feeling the female contours of his male companion, smelling the sweet honey fragrance, instead of the headiness of his usual cherry blossom fragrance. It was Zoisite who pulled away first, a rarity in their physical confrontations. Usually Kunzite had to almost pry the smaller man from him.

"So, does Jadeite know what he is doing?" asked Zoisite, slightly breathlessly. His heart was beating at twice the normal rate, but that was not unusual. Kunzite often had that affect on him.

Kunzite nodded, and smiled slightly. "He will find the Senshi, and you and I shall capture Tuxedo Kamen. As for Nephrite..."

Zoisite snorted. "He can stay in the Dark Kingdom and get deliciously drunk."

The eldest king had to laugh at the petty dislike on the face of his beloved, the dark look strangely at odds with the innocent visage he had adopted as a disguise. "You know what to do, don't you?"

Zoisite nodded, and looked towards the darkening sky. "Don't I know it. You promise not to hurt me, Kunzite-sama?"

The silver king touched Zoisite on the shoulder, and for once, gave him a completely honest look. "Zoisite, I would never purposely hurt you."

Only half convinced, Zoisite nodded, and steeled himself for the act that lay ahead.

________________________________________________________________________

Jadeite knew that his part in this particular plan was critical. He needed to have the Senshi, particularly Sailor Moon, in some kind of mild danger, so to awaken Tuxedo Kamen's desire to protect the foolishly under-trained girl. He knew that Kunzite and Zoisite were near this point - the Hikawa Shrine where he knew Hino Rei worked. He had never realised that the annoying girl he had temporarily worked with had been the fiery red Senshi until she had come to the airport in her civilian seeming.

Sighing, he entered the compound, and he realised that he could hear arguing coming from one of the rooms. The room of the great fire, actually. It sounded like an irate Rei.

Sending a mental impulse to Kunzite, he moved forward to formulate a trap to contain the three girls. The plan was simple - Jadeite would have the three Senshi in mild danger as to lure out Tuxedo Kamen. Kunzite would then make sure the only Senshi Tuxedo Kamen found was the cleverly disguised Zoisite.

And outside, Kunzite took the Sailor double's arm and said softly "Let's get this show on the road."

________________________________________________________________________

Mamoru clutched his head in pain as the all too familiar disorienting pain slowly overwhelmed him, and threw him to the pavement as his form wavered and vanished.

________________________________________________________________________

The Sailor Senshi struggled violently against the great ugly youma holding her, as Kunzite watched from a distance, almost laughing. He knew that Zoisite despised to be touched, especially by youma, so he had arranged for this particularly rancid youma to come and play with him. It was a delightful hobby, goading Zoisite. God knew, the young man needed it - his temper was fast spiralling completely out of control. And he knew that Queen Beryl-sama had little or no patience for subordinates.

Sending a mental note to Jadeite, he asked ^What is it that you have done, Jadeite?^

A swift reply answered him, and Kunzite had to appreciate the man's respect for his authority. He was most definitely more easily controlled than Zoisite. The only reason Zoisite ever listened to him was because Kunzite knew the young man was helplessly infatuated with him. Unfortunately, Kunzite had also discovered, rather late, that Zoisite carried a rather obsessive torch for him.

^The Senshi are incapacitated in their human forms, Kunzite-sama. They will not escape my wrath.^

Kunzite sighed at the king's dramatics. He had never had any patience for such things. ^Jadeite, you are not to hurt them. Unless, of course, you would like me to report you to Queen Beryl-sama.^

There was a slight pause before Jadeite replied, sounding slightly hesitant. ^No one likes a tattle-tale.^

^No one likes an arrogant upstart.^ Kunzite turned his attention back to where Zoisite was shrieking for his "beloved" Tuxedo Kamen-sama, and he noted rather wearily that Zoisite seemed on the point of making a nasty ice crystal designed to unseam the youma from top to bottom. Almost angrily, he snapped to Zoisite's mind ^Don't you dare, Zoisite.^

^But, Kunzite-sama...^ Even though Zoisite was obviously very much annoyed at the idea, Kunzite could see that he was no longer going to attempt to murder the youma. Instead, he screamed louder in the girlish voice he had adopted to help with this charade. Kunzite winced at the pitch of it, but he knew it was Zoisite's twisted revenge for making him wear that godawful fuku.

Standing in the shadows, he saw the rose come flying down, striking the youma on her wrists. The youma then released the Senshi, squawking in agony as she fell to her bony knees. Violet blood spread out from under the verdant fingers that clutched the youma's wrist.

"Sailor Moon" fell to the ground, choking rather convincingly. So much so, Kunzite wondered if the youma had really hurt "her." Then again, her screaming had been rather loud for that.

Then she looked up with that kawaii little face. "Tuxedo Kamen-sama!" she cried out, her eyes shining so brightly with pride and adoration it made Kunzite's eyes narrow. It seemed that Zoisite was an even better actor than he had originally claimed to be.

________________________________________________________________________

"Well, I'm not going to dwell on it, but this, this was stupid," said Rei, almost conversationally. But her flaming violet eyes told another story as she stared daggers at both of her fellow Senshi. But her worst gaze - that she reserved for the man leaning languidly against the doorframe.

"We know, we know!" shrieked Usagi in reply, from where she was attached to the wall by things that looked like ninja stars. "We're just a bunch of stupid idiots, are you happy now! Tuxedo Kamen-sama..." She whispered his name first, and then she began to wail, "TUXEDO KAMEN-SAMA!!!!!"

Jadeite's dark sapphire eyes widened, and he abruptly threw a ball of magical energy at the girl. It made a very neat gag that doused the room in silence. Usagi stared at the man, stunned. But she couldn't say a thing.

"Dear little girls, I can't let you annoy your beloved Tuxedo Kamen. It's rude to interrupt someone from their given mission," he snickered. "But don't worry, I'm sure you'll get to see him soon - very soon."

"Oh, can the megalomaniacal dictator act," shouted Rei. "You Dark Kingdom flunkies are just too predictable! I knew you were malicious! I knew you couldn't be trusted! I knew it would come to this!"

"Hysteria," sighed Jadeite, rolling his eyes. "Typical little girl soldier."

Rei's eyes narrowed even further, but she kept her mouth shut. She and Ami were just as incapacitated as Usagi - and there wasn't much that they could do about it. Except pray that Jadeite was wrong, and Tuxedo Kamen would come to help them.

________________________________________________________________________

The youma crumpled to the ground as Zoisite disguised a fire attack as Sailor Moon's tiara action, and smiled as he watched his tormentor die. Kunzite had said not to kill it - but what the hell.

Tuxedo Kamen then moved a few steps closer to Sailor Moon, but he appeared loathe to get too near her. "Sailor Moon...forgive me. I should have been able to help both you and the other Senshi last night, but..."

Kunzite sent a message to Zoisite. ^Zoisite, if you are going to capture Tuxedo Kamen, I suggest you do it now!^

Zoisite smiled inwardly, and then turned innocent eyes on the man who was regarding her with such heavy guilt in his eyes. "Tuxedo Kamen-sama, I know you did what you had to...and I don't begrudge you it."

An alarm went off in Tuxedo Kamen's head. The voice - it sure sounded like Sailor Moon, but the sweet, almost clutzy soldier had never sounded so eloquent before.

She took a step closer to him, stretching out a gloved hand. He involuntarily took a step backward - there was something not quite right behind those bright blue eyes.

Inwardly, Zoisite cursed. If he was going to put Tuxedo Kamen under, and transport him to the Dark Kingdom, he was going to have to be a lot closer. A lot. The original plan had been to inject a sedative into the man's bloodstream, via a small ice crystal. Therefore...

Sailor Moon came closer. "Tuxedo Kamen-sama, whatever it was, I don't care! Tuxedo Kamen-sama..." She looked bashfully away, then raised her eyes, filled with a girlish hope. "I'm just so glad that you're alive! I don't...I don't ever want to lose you!" With a choked sob, the "girl" threw herself into the masked man's arms, sobbing her heart out.

Startled, Tuxedo Kamen wrapped his arms about the girl, and Zoisite smiled, conjuring up the small ice crystal that was about to double as a hypodermic needle. To his unsettlement, he found it was actually very safe here, in the man's protective embrace. He couldn't understand it - it was like being with Kunzite-sama...almost...

Just who was this peculiar masked man? Why was it that he felt so familiar, somehow..?

So distracted was he, he didn't notice until the last second that he had forgotten the needle in his hand as he reached up in a half-hearted attempt to take off the man's mask. Hurriedly, he dropped it, meaning to catch it with his other hand, so Tuxedo Kamen would not notice it. He realised too late that his other hand was held tightly by Tuxedo Kamen's, therefore deeming the action impossible.

The ice shard made a musical intonation as it hit the ground.

The man looked up, distracted suddenly from the beautiful "girl" he held so possessively in his arms.

Zoisite cursed in his mind, knowing that the situation was fast slipping out of his grasp. Only one option left now - he couldn't disappoint Kunzite-sama, he couldn't!

Forgive me, Kunzite-sama.

Sailor Moon tilted her face up, wrapped her fingers into the hair at the back of Tuxedo Kamen's head, and then proceeded to swiftly lock "her" lips with his.

From the shadows, Kunzite frowned. This was most definitely NOT in the plan that he had approved.

He continued to watch silently from the shadows as the man stiffened slightly, trying to move away, Sailor Moon not giving him an inch to work with. Then, finally, he crumpled to the ground, Sailor Moon desperately trying to keep him from cracking his head open on the cobbles.

"Nice work, Zoisite," he said dryly, as he moved to help "Sailor Moon" support the dead weight of the guardian of the Senshi. "Although I do trust there were no arriére-pensée involved in that little display I just had to endure?"

"Excuse me?" asked "Sailor Moon," as a blush stained her young cheeks.

Kunzite smiled slightly, as he hefted the man upward, so that he had one arm around Kunzite, and the other around Zoisite, so that he dangled between them. "Ulterior motives, dear Zoisite."

"She" almost exploded from self-righteous anger. "I did not want to do that, Kunzite-sama! How...how could you possibly believe such a thing?"

Kunzite smiled wryly, and looked towards the building where he knew the Senshi were being held. "You'd be surprised. Zoisite, take Tuxedo Kamen to the arena. I shall bring the Senshi to the gate presently. I'll have Jadeite with me, most likely, but I'll send him to help you - if you think you need it."

Zoisite's lips tightened at the cool humour in his voice. "Why do you always make light of my abilities, Kunzite-sama? Why would I be unable to deal with the baka...capeboy?!"

Kunzite had to chuckle at Zoisite's impulsive name - though he was a tad insulted. He just hoped that it didn't reflect on his own dress sense. With a mental sigh, he sent Tuxedo Kamen to the appointed destination, and placed a hand on Zoisite's feminine shoulder. "I don't doubt you, Zoisite. But do change out of this get-up. As kawaii as you do look, you look a little too much like our inept enemy."

"Sailor Moon" rolled her eyes, and was engulfed by a swirling hubbub of pink cherry blossoms. When it finally ceased, Zoisite's verdant eyes glared out of his delicately handsome face. "I will return to the arena, to prepare things. So, you will arrive soon?"

"Hai," he replied, already looking the building. "And I trust that you will not harm or interfere with Tuxedo Kamen in anyway?"

Zoisite nodded slightly. "Of course not, Kunzite-sama." He then bowed respectfully to his teacher, and vanished in a flurry of more cherry blossoms.

Kunzite shook his head, and moved to the building, sending a message to Jadeite as he did so. ^Jadeite, return immediately to the Dark Kingdom.^

There was a slight pause, then a reply. ^It will be done, Kunzite-sama.^ Another pause. ^Do you mind if I ask why?^

Kunzite rolled his argent eyes. ^Even though I am under no obligation to answer such trivial questions, I will anyway. I want you to keep an eye on Zoisite.^

^Having problems with your little seito there, Kunzite?^

The king's eyes darkened at the new arrival - he recognised that voice. Not only was it tinged with sarcasm that was less than friendly, the speaker did not address him as Kunzite-sama, as was customary with most Dark Kingdom denizens.

^I don't believe this is any of your concern, Nephrite.^

^You could be right, Kunzite. Still, I could use a little entertainment. Let me tell you, your impossible little seito is highly engaging.^

Kunzite shook his head, feeling Jadeite's teleport. Obviously, the younger king was more than a little unnerved by the fact that the two highest ranking kings seemed to be teetering on the verge of an argument.

Ignoring the king in his mind, Kunzite summoned a transport.

________________________________________________________________________

Jadeite looked at the three girls, and Rei noted with interest the way he seemed to be staring right through them. It was like he was blind. She also noted the odd way his face seemed to slightly change expression, almost like he was talking to someone without words.

Then, abruptly, he raised his head and smiled slightly. "I might see you three later, girls." He then transported suddenly, leaving the three girls still attached to the wall, and one of them gagged.

Rei rolled her eyes. "I suppose he's going to leave us here to see if we can escape. Well, let's not disappoint him, ne? Though I do think Usagi-chan's new accessory really does suit her."

Usagi would have stuck her tongue out at her, if she was able. She had to settle for stomping her foot on the ground instead.

At that moment, Luna leapt through the window, with a "I'm sorry I'm late, Central Control-" Then she stopped, noting that her charges were attached to the wall.

"Hey Luna, why don't you come and hang with us?" asked Rei, a small smile playing at her lips. "Then again, as comfortable as this is, I think I've had enough of hanging around. Care to help us out?"

"I'll help you out," intoned a deep, mellifluous voice, and Ami drew in a sharp breath as she recognised the form of Kunzite assembling before them. He smiled rather sarcastically, as the bonds holding them on the wall dissolved, letting them down. "Is that more to your taste, Sailor Mars?"

Rei gave him a silent look. It was Ami who spoke up first. "I was under the impression that you were not going to harm us if we did not interfere with your plans."

He shrugged. "That's not why we are here, Lady Mercury. We came to offer you a challenge."

"What kind of a challenge?" asked Rei hesitantly, looking at Usagi, who was desperately wrestling with the gag.

Kunzite laughed outright. "Why tell you, when I can show you?" He raised his left arm, and then brought it down in an arc of bright colour, blinding all three of them, and Luna. When they could see again, they blinked in astonishment.

Kunzite reclined against the huge wooden doors in amusement, a smirk colouring his normally icy features. The three girls stared around their new environment in absolute, dark wonder. This Cimmerian land they now stood on was most definitely not Earth. It wasn't just the sky of shifting hues, or the cool, organic ground in this endless cavern like world, it was the very atmosphere. An atmosphere of complete and utter despair.

They stood before a large, dark building in a huge cavern-like clearing. The walls all around them in the distance were dotted with cave entrances, obviously passages leading about this peculiar world. In the very far distance, Rei thought she could see a huge, dark skull, resting like some great beast on the horizon.

"Ah, no place like home, ne?" asked Kunzite, though he had lost his smirk.

"A warning would've been nice - I could have packed a toothbrush," muttered Rei, but then she straightened, and stalked over to where Kunzite reclined against the doors. "Why are we here?"

"An explanation would be helpful," added Ami, and Usagi nodded her head up and down frantically, before going back to trying to pull the gag from around her head. Unfortunately, it seemed to be a very magical gag.

Kunzite nodded. "Very well. You remember your friend Tuxedo Kamen?"

Rei nodded. "Of course."

Out of nowhere, a sudden building of particles exploded into a elaborate display of cherry blossoms that built themselves into a small, svelte form. Zoisite then stood before them, and he turned to Kunzite with an oddly maniacal smile on his face. "It is done, Kunzite-sama. Tuxedo Kamen is inside."

"Tuxedo Kamen-sama is here?!" exploded Rei in anger, clenching her fist. "What the Hell are you two playing at?"

"I'm interested in you three girls," replied Kunzite frankly, earning himself a distasteful glare from Zoisite. Ignoring it, he went on. "You seem under trained, and you're downright child-like. However, you also do seem to have an awful lot of power at your fingertips."

"So?" asked Rei, and Usagi mumbled something unintelligible. Zoisite laughed, and then surprising, waved his gloved hand in her direction. To her startled shock, the gag melted under Zoisite's magical influence.

"Where's Tuxedo Kamen-sama?" she demanded instantly, and Kunzite rolled his eyes.

"Your devotion to that man is laughably foolish. Perhaps, though, it is to our advantage. For that is the game we have built for you inside this citadel." He inclined a large hand to the closed, heavy doors, which bore a strange insignia made of ebony. "Would you like to play? I think you'll find the stakes very desirable."

"Lemme guess," asked Rei dryly. "We're playing for Tuxedo Kamen-sama?"

Zoisite smiled, and tossed his long, coppery blonde hair. "As such, yes. You must go and there and rescue him from the various dangers we have put him in."

"It's just a little test of your powers - and your devotion to one another," said Kunzite, giving Zoisite a look that said quite plainly shut up and let me do the talking.

"A test?" squeaked Usagi. "But...someone could get hurt!"

Kunzite gave her an iceberg stare, one of cool contempt. "And your point would be?"

The younger man then spoke again. "Listen, girls. There are many traps in there, and although they are only lethal to that man, they are able to hurt you, too. Just not enough to kill you."

"That's a relief - at least I don't have to make sure my life insurance is up to date," Rei replied snidely, and then moved to the door. "So - let us in, already!"

Zoisite smiled at her impatience, and then looked to Kunzite with an oddly adoring look, that Ami noted with curiosity. It seemed that the pair were more friendly with each other than the other king was with either of them. She noted it down carefully, filing it away for future reference.

The younger man then bowed, and said, "I shall be waiting inside, Kunzite-sama."

He nodded distractedly, and Zoisite vanished. Kunzite continued to stare at the girls.

Usagi bit her lip. "Uh..."

Kunzite then started to move away from the doors, in the opposite direction to the one the girls would have to take. "Do be careful girls, I wouldn't want you to strain yourselves. And try to be finished before I get back - if you want your Tuxedo Kamen to...well, you know. LIVE." Without a further word, the form of the silver king warped and vanished before their eyes.

"Well, that's a nice, encouraging comment," muttered Rei, then turning to the other two. "Ami, have you any idea how to open those doors?"

Ami read the engraved sign below the matching gold doorknockers on either side of the centre. "When the sun and moon are joined the entrance to eternity is opened."

Rei sighed. "Great. That's helpful. Oh, I know. Let's build a slingshot and slam Usagi into the centre of the sun with it. Hey, that could work..."

Ami rolled her eyes, and Usagi, to her credit, didn't say anything. Instead, she lifted the crescent shaped doorknocker on the left, and pressed it to the half gold orb above it. Ami smiled at her sudden logic, and did the same thing with the right.

The doors swung open.

Rei looked stunned, and Ami shrugged. "It was a simple riddle, really. That crescent represents the moon, the orb represents the sun. Join them..."

"A simple riddle," mused Rei. Then she laughed in good humour. "I guess it took a simple mind to think of the answer, ne?"

Ami rolled her eyes skyward, and looked to the until-now silent cat. "Luna? Is this a good idea?"

She looked a little taken aback. "We-ell...this is your call. If you want to go on..."

"Of course we want to go on!" cried out Rei, peering into the darkness.

"Yeah!" agreed Usagi excitedly. "If I rescue Tuxedo Kamen-sama, he'll love me for sure!"

Luna sighed. "That wasn't quite the reason I had in mind, Usagi-chan..."

______________________________________________________________________________________

Heeheehee...so, what do you think of my weird little story so far? I must admit, the whole "citadel" thing comes from watching too much Aladdin, but hey...if you want me to explain that, you'll have to write to me. Until the next bout of insanity...
